These are the words of Ana Santos, a Portuguese designer & art director who has spent years revolutionizing businesses by helping them deliver user-centered experiences to win loyal customers and build unique brands.
Santos has dedicated her career to helping entrepreneurs and business leverage the power of design. She believes that it’s essential for entrepreneurs to enable their users to achieve their goals on a business website — whether that’s buying a product or easily learning about your company.
Santos teaches that aligning user goals with business goals is a cornerstone of online business strategy in a world of competition, short attention and endless alternatives.
“By focusing on your visitors, your website and business are already gaining ‘invisible credibility.’ You are showing your customers that you care about their experience when trying to purchase your products or services. And if you can show them that you care about their experience, then you’re really showing that you care about them — and trust is everything in today’s business landscape.”
Santos has lived and worked all around the world — in places as varied as Brazil and France — and gained experience with both digital agencies and corporate clients (in addition to having a degree in design). Santos wanted to take her experience in the corporate world and use it to help first-time entrepreneurs avoid the common pitfalls that she all-too-often sees.
“I became a freelancer because I wanted to make a difference in people lives — especially those who are just getting started in business and are going through the same doubts and struggles that I did at first. This is why I love to work with small entrepreneurs: I can apply the knowledge I’ve gained from corporate, but make the price point attainable for small businesses. Providing a good user experience is no longer optional, but not many can’t afford the big agencies.”
Santos has settled back in Portugal but still works with clients all over the world. She endeavors to set an example for all millennial entrepreneurs out there and show them that they can build a successful business if they focus on the right factors. Santos is excited to continue expanding her impact through her knowledge of design and feels that the sky is the limit.
