Esau Jenkins, Civil Rights Activists, will be featured in the New Smithsonian Museum

With only a 4th grade education, civil rights advocate and community leader Esau Jenkins founded a co-op, school, federal credit union, restaurant, clinic and two hotels. Civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King often visited his home on Johns Island for counsel and advice.
