Suzanne Dibble, a UK based attorney and business mentor who used to be Richard Branson’s attorney, was the featured guest on Influencers Radios with Jack Mize. She discussed how she grew her solo legal practice and is now helping female coaches and consultants stand out from the crowd as the go to expert and achieve success.
As a practicing attorney, she started her legal career in the largest law firm in the world. Of course, she did not solicit her own clients. The work just landed on her desk.
When she made the decision to start her own solo practice, she didn’t have a clue how to go about getting her first client. She’d never had to do any marketing. She did some traditional things, such as doing some face-to-face local networking, with dismal results.
She realized she really needed to find a more strategic way of marketing and growing her business. She came up with two or three very simple strategies which catapulted her to success in a short time.
According to Dibble, “I thought there’s got to be a better way of doing this. Using two or three simple strategies, within a few months, I had completely established myself as the go-to expert in my niche, even though I was only working 3 days a week looking after a small baby. I soon had won 200+ new clients and still had people clamouring to work with me, which led me to establishing my online legal platform that now has many hundreds of members.”
Dibble found it was all about finding the right niche. Most people are afraid of niching down and narrowing their audience because they feel it will severely limit the numbers of people they can help and the money they can make.
“Unless you’ve got a huge advertising budget, you are never going to get in front of all of those people who need your help. Being a big fish in a small pond is what works. Not being a small fish in a big pond,” shared Dibble.
Dibble is naturally skilled at spotting a niche for her many clients. Having struggled with marketing her business initially when she set it up, she enjoys working with mothers who are striving to have a thriving coaching or consulting business.
She stated, “My mission now is to help those coaches and consultants who are struggling with that consistent flow of clients. Those who are operating their businesses out of fear, rather than from a position of service and value, because they’re worried about where the next client’s coming from. I want them to have their ideal clients queuing up to work with them and to have the choice to work with clients they really love working with. I want them to be able to increase their prices, work less hours yet more impactfully for more reward – and all of the other wonderful things that come from being the real go-to expert in their niche.”
Suzanne Dibble, an expert at teaching others how to become the go to expert, has truly found her niche.
