Sentinel Hydrosolutions, LLC, maker of the Leak Defense System and Wireless Point of Leak Detector (POLD), has named Kenneth D. Fox to head their business development division. That according to Sentinel Founder and CEO Scott Pallias who said Fox will play a major role in Sentinel’s continued market expansion and innovation.
“Ken is our industry’s most respected and innovative resource and his addition to our team completes a multi-year evolution to position Sentinel and the Leak Defense System the number one leak detection and protection solution in the world,” said Pallias.
Sentinel Hydrosolutions, LLC launched in 2005 after one of its principals returned from a vacation to find his home flooded inside due to a plumbing leak. After searching for a solution and finding that none existed, he decided to create one. Over a decade later, the Leak Defense System has emerged as the leading solution against damage from plumbing leaks. Fox says he’s excited about joining the Sentinel team to help solidify their position as the leader in the leak protection category.
“I’ve spent the last seven years building awareness across the globe of an effective way to prevent the second most frequently filed insurance claim in the US—catastrophic leaks in residential and commercial properties due to plumbing leaks,” said Fox. “With the recent release of their remote control and monitoring app, the Leak Defense System has clearly moved to the head of the class in the leak prevention category. I’m excited to be joining this innovative team.”
According to an insurance industry study, 92% of insurance claims for water damage are due to leaking plumbing. According to the study, water damage from leaking plumbing is six times more likely than burglary and seven times more likely than fire. “Every home has a smoke detector and many homes have a security system,” said Pallais, “yet very few have a ‘leak alarm’. The Leak Defense System provides that final component for defense against the most likely cause of damage.”
Pallais said the Leak Defense System is so effective at protecting against internal water damage that some of the world’s leading insurance companies like CHUBB, have partnered with Sentinel to provide an incentive for homeowners to install it. “CHUBB has arranged for their customers to save up to 35% on the cost of the system and get a discount on their recurring premiums by installing the Leak Defense System. That’s how much they trust the LDS to prevent damage.” According to Pallais, the system may also help lower utility bills and conserve water by indentifying hidden leaks in water using appliances, behind walls, ceilings and in slabs.
With over 30 years experience in the business and last seven years with the WaterCop brand, Fox will focus on new business development and client retention. “It’s a major move for me,” said Fox. “I look forward to continuing my efforts to help educate and innovate in whole house emergency water shut off systems.”
