“The Seven Paths to Success” was compiled from powerful and fascinating conversations with passionate, dedicated and driven individuals who have played such an influential role in the success of so many others.
Renee “The Bare Boss” Gambino is a successful business owner, speaker, and strategist. While many people fear change, Gambino teaches that change is exactly what gets her clients what they want. She encourages her clients to stop trying to blend in with what everyone else is doing and discover their own uniqueness.
The feeling of freedom and the even greater success she had when she stopped trying to fit in led her to share her discoveries with other business owners.
According to Gambino, “My definition of mediocrity is staying within the status quo. So in order to threaten mediocrity, we have to challenge the status quo. We have to get up and say, hey, I’m really good at what I do and I should get paid what I’m worth. And I’m okay with owning that.”
Gambino adds, “The problem is that people get stuck wanting to be like everyone else, rather than stand out. I see it all over the place, even in images in websites. People want their website to look like other people in their industry because that’s the status quo.”
Gambino feels that if everyone could connect with their actual uniqueness, then that would make a difference. That is actually when potential clients notice and when businesses grow.
She shares that when a business looks exactly like every other business in their industry, the only differentiator comes down to negotiating on fees. This can become a dangerous downward spiral that can only lead to the demise of the business.
“When you put yourself in that ‘me too’ situation, what do you have to separate yourself outside of price? And that is the number one success killer,” shares Gambino. “You feel you have to work what you do to make the deal happen and make yourself fit. You’ve got to negotiate – manipulate your fees, who you are and what you do in order to fit a situation.”
The reality is, according to Gambino, when people stop negotiating who they are, what they charge and what kind of value they provide, people are able to make a decision because they’re not confused. It becomes easier for them to choose someone who is standing out from the crowd.
Gambino highlights many of the pitfalls facing today’s entrepreneur as they try to grow their businesses and are failing to do so. She also shares her wealth-expanding strategies that have consistently worked for her and for her many clients.
